From Claire Richardson, Winemaker

The 2024 Roussanne is rich and textural, yet fresh and lively, offering depth without excess. Aromas of candied lemon and honeysuckle mingle with fresh honeycomb and a subtle, seashell minerality. Apricot and pecan oil add warmth and intrigue to the wine.

The Vintage

Ample winter rains fueled a vigorous growing season, while mild temperatures through July extended hang times, enhancing phenolic ripeness for near-perfect fruit.

Winemaking

Fermented and aged in 25% new French oak barrels for 8 months.

Food Pairing

Pair with seared scallops with toasted hazelnut butter over herbed polenta

The Vineyard

Our 55 planted acres are within the Hoover’s Valley, which runs through the Llano Uplift formation in the Texas Hill Country AVA.

Situated near the banks of the Colorado River, the alluvial soils along with the significant mineral deposits make this a truly unique growing environment. Uplift itself has four distinct soil types, with each planted variety chosen for its suitability to the ground in which it resides: sand, granite, sandy loam and clay.
