From Claire Richardson, Winemaker

A layered expression of the diverse varieties and textures grown across the estate and blended into a wine that is both powerful and vibrant. The palate is full and expansive with a suede-like texture, delivering generous fruit while remaining fresh, lively, and beautifully balanced.

The Vintage

Ample winter rains fueled a vigorous growing season, while mild temperatures through July extended hang times, enhancing phenolic ripeness for near-perfect fruit.

Winemaking

Fermented in large oak fermenter. Aged 16 months in French oak barrels,37% new.

Food Pairing

Lamb empanadas with mint chimichurri

The Vineyard

Our 55 planted acres are within the Hoover’s Valley, which runs through the Llano Uplift formation in the Texas Hill Country AVA.

Situated near the banks of the Colorado River, the alluvial soils along with the significant mineral deposits make this a truly unique growing environment. Uplift itself has four distinct soil types, with each planted variety chosen for its suitability to the ground in which it resides: sand, granite, sandy loam and clay.

Montepulciano Block G: est. 2016, sandy loam soil, clone VCR 10, rootstock 1103P

Petite Sirah Block F: est. 2015, sandy loam soil, clone 05SM, 05ID, rootstock 1103P

Grenache Block N: est. 2017, sand soil, clone Lewis (NC), rootstock 1103P
