From Claire Richardson, Winemaker

This wine delivers balanced acidity among stone fruit, orange peel, and wildflower honey. The elegance and restraint is proof that it has great potential beyond its role as a blending grape.

The Vintage

Ample winter rains fueled a vigorous growing season, while mild temperatures through July extended hang times, enhancing phenolic ripeness for near-perfect fruit.

Winemaking

Fermented in concrete egg and neutral oak barrels. Aged in 100% neutral oak barrels for 10 months. Partial malolactic fermentation.

Food Pairing

Spagheti with clams and fesh parsley.

The Vineyard

Our 55 planted acres are within the Hoover’s Valley, which runs through the Llano Uplift formation in the Texas Hill Country AVA.

Situated near the banks of the Colorado River, the alluvial soils along with the significant mineral deposits make this a truly unique growing environment. Uplift itself has four distinct soil types, with each planted variety chosen for its suitability to the ground in which it resides: sand, granite, sandy loam and clay.

Marsanne Block I: est. 2016, sand soil, rootstock 1103P

Viognier Block K: est. 2018, granite soil, rootstock 1103P, S04

Elevation: 860 to 880 feet
