From Claire Richardson, Winemaker
With medium tannin, higher acid, and bolder flavors, this is definitely a "main course" wine. Pair this with veal Ossobuco or beef and mushroom tagliatelle for a stand out meal.
The Vintage
Low yields after a 2019 freeze resulted in highly concentrated, well-balanced fruit.
Winemaking
Aged in neutral oak barrels for 24 months.
Food Pairing
Pair with veal Ossobuco or beef and mushroom tagliatelle.
The Vineyard
Our 55 planted acres are within the Hoover’s Valley, which runs through the Llano Uplift formation in the Texas Hill Country AVA.
Situated near the banks of the Colorado River, the alluvial soils along with the significant mineral deposits make this a truly unique growing environment. Uplift itself has four distinct soil types, with each planted variety chosen for its suitability to the ground in which it resides: sand, granite, sandy loam and clay.
Montepulciano Block G: est. 2016, sandy loam soil, clone VCR 10, rootstock 1103P
Elevation: 1,200 to 1,300 feet
